Performance

The standard engine on the 2019 Traverse is a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The RS stands apart, though, with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, each engine comes with start-stop technology for boosting fuel efficient via elimination of engine idling. The L has standard front-wheel drive and the RS has standard all-wheel drive; you can choose between the two drivetrains on the other four trims.

Interior and Features

With three rows, the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse can seat up to seven or eight people, depending on whether you go with the LT or the other trims. Standard comfort and convenience features include tri-zone automatic climate control, six-speaker audio, Bluetooth® wireless technology, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ for smartphone integration, proximity key entry, MyLink® infotainment integration, and a 7-inch color touchscreen. Options or upper-level features include leather seat trim, heated and ventilated front seats, rear-seat and steering-wheel heating capability, a driver’s-seat memory system, a garage-door opener, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless device charging ability, a 10-speaker Bose® premium audio system, and an 8-inch color touchscreen navigation.

Safety

Standard safety features on the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse include a rearview camera, Teen Driver mode for encouraging good driving habits in young drivers, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, StabiliTrak® for electronic stability control, LED daytime running lamps, and six airbags. Also standard are a five-year trial subscription to the OnStar® Basic Plan and a three-month trial subscription to the OnStar® Guidance Plan. These plans provide services and functions that include automatic collision notification, advanced diagnostics, stolen vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, and dealer maintenance notification. Upper-level trims are more likely to have additions or improvements such as a surround-view camera, forward collision alert, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, forward automatic braking, following distance indicator, and front pedestrian detection.
