Differences Between 2019 Chevrolet Equinox & 2019 Jeep Cherokee
Serving Columbus, OH, Louisville, KY, and Springfield, OH
The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is a compact crossover SUV that's loaded with all-new features. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is a mid-size SUV that boasts great off-road capabilities. Available with three turbocharged engines, the Equinox is more efficient than this Jeep. This Chevy also offers some of the latest active safety features, such as front autonomous braking and alert systems for lane changes.
Performance
A 1.5 L engine with a turbocharger has entry-level status under the hood of the 2019 Chevy Equinox. Using direct injection, this naturally aspirated engine yields 170 horsepower and just more than 200 pound-feet of torque. The variable valve timing (VVT) technology helps this I-4 engine achieve a maximum fuel economy of 32 MPG on the highway. Also running on a turbocharger, the 2.0 L engine delivers just more than 250 hp and up to 260 lb-ft. An all-new automatic transmission system with nine gear speeds is paired with this powertrain. Additionally, the 2019 Equinox is available with a 1.6 L turbo diesel engine that cranks out just under 140 hp and up to 240 lb-ft. This compact powertrain offers a class-leading highway fuel economy of 39 MPG. A six-speed automatic transmission system is optimized to work with the diesel engine and the 1.5 L gas engine. Primarily designed for off-road handling, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee doesn't come close to matching the efficiency of the Equinox model.

Safety
The 2019 Chevy Equinox offers the Following Distance Indicator and Forward Collision Alert. If you don't take sufficient measures to prevent an accident, the Forward Automatic Braking will attempt to make some last-second adjustments to the brakes. Thanks to the Front Pedestrian Braking, you won't have to worry about colliding with a person on the road. Autonomous braking is also included in the vehicle's Adaptive Cruise Control. Capturing videos in HD, the rear vision camera sends live feeds to the infotainment system. The all-new HD Surround Vision provides additional perspectives of your surroundings. This Chevy crossover SUV also has several driving aides for changing lanes, such as the Lane Keep Assist. The IntelliBeam headlamps and Safety Alert Seat give the 2019 Equinox a definite advantage over the 2019 Jeep Cherokee in safety.

Technology
Replacing the MyLink platform, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system makes its debut in the 2019 Chevy Equinox. This new multimedia system is available with 7.0-inch and 8.0-inch touch screens. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included in the enhanced infotainment console. Such smartphone-friendly features are also supported by the 2019 Jeep Cherokee's Uconnect 4 system, which is available with 7.0-inch and 8.4-inch displays. As in previous years, the 4G LTE WiFi in the Equinox is powered by OnStar. A wireless charging system and six USB ports provide additional connection options inside the high-tech cabin. Entertainment in both cars is delivered by HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
