Differences Between 2018 Chevrolet Traverse & 2018 Honda Pilot
Serving Columbus, OH, Louisville, KY, and Springfield, OH
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse and 2018 Honda Pilot square off against each other in the mid-size crossover SUV arena. Both of these family vehicles have eight comfortable seats. When it comes to capabilities and handling, this Chevy is the clear winner over the Pilot. The premium Traverse also boasts better digital technology in the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system.
Performance
Having a classic V6 design with variable valve timing, the 2018 Chevy Traverse's 3.6 L SIDI engine whips out a maximum of 310 horsepower. Using direct fuel injection, this naturally aspirated powertrain cranks out a peak torque of 280 pound-feet. Every 2018 Honda Pilot runs on a 3.5 L V6 engine that has a limit of 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The i-VTEC and SOHC labels are applied to this six-cylinder engine block. Rated at 255 hp and 295 lb-ft, a 2.0 L turbocharged engine is available in the 2018 Traverse. Both engines in this Chevy could stop and restart based on idling and demand for output. Similarly, the Pilot's Variable Cylinder Management partially disengages some of the cylinders when there's no need for maximum output. Each crossover SUV is capable of pulling a trailer that registers 5,000 pounds on a conventional towing scale.

Handling
A nine-speed automatic transmission system works with the 2018 Chevy Traverse's turbo engine. This dynamic transmission includes the Driver Shift Control and an overdrive capability. Some of the 2018 Honda Pilot trims come standard with an automatic transmission system that offers only six gears. If you're looking to navigate rough terrains in the Traverse, take advantage of the Traction Mode Select. A twist of a dial instantly optimizes this crossover SUV for particular tasks and conditions. For example, the Off-Road Mode is tuned for grass, gravel, rocks and mud. The 4x4/Snow Mode is reassuring for tough winter weather. You could select the FWD Mode for normal driving on smooth highways. Additionally, the Tow/Haul Mode shifts the vehicle into the appropriate gears when towing a trailer. Available in the High Country trim, the AWD has twin clutches that optimize torque in all of the wheels.

Technology
Chevrolet has proudly installed the signature MyLink infotainment system inside the 2018 Traverse. GPS navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are some of the top applications that you'll find on the 8.0-inch diagonal touch screen. You could also turn on the 4G LTE Wi-Fi network to send signals to several devices. Remote services are accessible through the myChevrolet app that works on major mobile operating systems. A 10-speaker sound system by Bose is also available in this premium Chevy crossover SUV. This audio system produces concert-like acoustics from your favorite SiriusXM channels. Despite having a lower-quality sound system, the 2018 Pilot offers lots of music stations on SiriusXM, Pandora and HD Radio.
