Serving Columbus, OH, Louisville, KY, and Springfield, OH

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is one of the top-selling model that General Motors offers. It's versatility in design options, powerful engine choices, and the best towing capability in this pickup segment are the main reasons why. This is a rugged, dependable work truck offered in a total of six trims, two of the most popular being the LTZ and High Country. These versions of the 2018 Silverado 1500 model are far more than just a bare-bones utility vehicle.

The LTZ adds on a bevy or standard features not found on the base Work Truck trim. The High Country is even more luxurious, and most of the optional features available on the LTZ come standard on the High Country. Below is a more detailed summary of the two trims to help you make an informative purchase decision.

Engine and Powertrain

The standard V6 engine found under the hood of the lower trims is replaced by a 5.3L V8 on the LTZ version. This engine produces a total of 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Paired to they buyer's choice of a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission, this engine really gets the Silverado 1500 LTZ up and moving. The 2018 Silverado 1500 High Country can be purchased with the same engine and powertrain, but the High Country can also be fitted with a 6.2L V8 that produces a whopping 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both the LTZ and High Country can be purchased with two- or all-wheel drive. With the larger engine and the optional Max Trailering package, the Silverado 1500 can tow up to 12,500 pounds.

Leather seating is also standard. High-tech features include a 7-inch screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integrations, Bluetooth, and the MyLink interface. The LTZ also comes with a 110-volt power outlet and eight-way power front seats. The High Country adds on even more goodies including 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome side step rails, cargo box tie-downs, a spray-on bedliner, and a trailer brake controller. Inside the cabin are power-adjustable pedals, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front bucket seats, and a seven-speaker Bose audio system.
